David Hirschhorn, CEO and Chairman
Mr. Hirschhorn has been the Chairman and CEO of First Physicians Capital Group since mid-July 2005. A specialist in financing and turnarounds, Mr. Hirschhorn co-managed a private equity firm from 2001-2005 and was CEO and chairman of a number of turnarounds and start-ups as a private investor. He was a managing director at Cruttenden Roth (now Roth Capital Partners) from 1994-1997, worked for The Nikko Securities Co. International, Inc. as a vice president in their New York office from 1991-1994 and was a consultant in New York with both Deloitte & Touche and KPMG Peat Marwick in New York from 1987 to 1991. Mr. Hirschhorn graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a BA in political science.
Mr. Houlihan has more than 30 years of finance experience. He has been chief financial officer for four companies between 2001 and 2008, including Metris and Hudson United Bancorp. Mr. Houlihan was an investment banker for Goldman Sachs and other major Wall Street firms from 1981 to 2000 where he advised CEOs and other corporate officers on a broad range of acquisitions, financings and other corporate transactions. Mr. Houlihan received a B.S. in Accounting in 1977 from Manhattan College, became licensed as a C.P.A. in 1979, and received his M.B.A. in Finance in 1983 from New York University Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Parker is concurrently a partner at Hidden River Ventures LLC, a firm specializing in investments and services provided to the wireless and communications industry. Previously, Mr. Parker was the founder and CEO of HR One, a human resources solutions provider. He has held senior executive and general manager positions with AirTouch participating in over 30 acquisitions including AirTouch's merger with US West in a $10 billion dollar transaction.
Robert N. Schwartz, Ph.D. , Director
Dr. Schwartz has served on the Board of Directors since August 1998. Dr. Schwartz has been a visiting professor at U.C.L.A since 1979. And owner of a scientific consulting company, Channel Islands Scientific Consulting since December 2000. From 1981 to 2000, Dr. Schwartz was a Senior Research Scientist at HRL Laboratories, LLC, Malibu, California. He has a B.A. in mathematics, chemistry and physics, an M.S. in Chemical Physics from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from the University of Colorado.
Mr. Sells has served on our Board of Directors since April 2005. From January 29, 2001 through April 2007, Mr. Sells has served as Vice-President Global Sales, Cargo, a $1 billion division of Northwest Airlines, Inc. Prior to joining Northwest Airlines, Mr. Sells was Managing Director, Hong Kong and China, for CV Transportation Services, LDC, from 1995 through December 31, 2000. Mr. Sells has a bachelors of science degree in Business Management from the University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University.
